Holes shovel

For my Holes create I made this shovel its made with cardboard and glue. The handle was hard to cut because I had to cut in the middle by stabbing the cardboard and cutting the middle carefully so it will be good. I t took me 1 day to finish the shovel and it turned out well. My shovel is important because Stanley uses it to dig his holes.

Alien Family

We learnt

1) Genetics are instructions for genes.

2) Traits are hereditary from parents and grandparents.

3) DNA my first drawing was bad and the second was better.

4) hereditary is when Traits get passed down to family members.

5) All living things have genes.

6) Medical conditions can be passed down.

Our challenge was to learn about genetics. We watched videos and we created aliens Traits by flipping coins too see what Traits they inherit.

TAP sentences

Today in to reo I have been making sentences the first one says Felix is jumping. the second says The dog is jumping. the third says You are sleeping. and the last means I am standing.

Holes Create

For my create on Holes I have made a yellow spotted lizard for being mentioned in in the story. If you get bit by it you will have a slow and painful death. I made Stanley with a pick axe and a sad face because he hates digging holes. Lastly I made a water truck that Stanley saw Mr sir driving in.

For literacy we have been learning about Holes and this is what I made the guy is Stanley I put a lot of work into just him!

Explanation Writing

I wrote about why it’s important to be outside.

I achieved to write in a set amount of time.

I need to focus on write connecting paragraphs.

Have you ever walked into the beach and hear the crashing waves?

It’s good to spend time with your family and friends on the outside because you get to meet new people, have fun and also stay healthy and fit. We all need vitamins to live a long life so spend most of your time outside and have parties outside with friends and family, climb tall trees and play on the playground.

Firstly, you can interact with your family and friends, spend time with them and explore mountains, beaches, underwater, and more. We can’t have fun alone or else you’ll be bored and won’t have fun. It’s never good to stay alone all day because you’ll have no one to talk to play with and you might even be sad because no one’s there for you.

Secondly, you can get fit and healthy. The sun provides Vitamin D, so we can be healthy and stronger. If we stay inside we will be weak and we won’t get vitamins and we will have a short life. stay outside on playgrounds, beaches but not caves because you will get rickets and your bones will get soft and won’t be strong.

Lastly, To have a happy and social life we can’t just stay in our rooms doing nothing we have to at least be happy and make friends in different places. We have to have a social life outside. We can’t just meet people online and call them our friends. They could be way different in person. In real life we need to see everyone in person to see if they’re nice or not.

In conclusion, it is important to go outside because we all have friends that we made out in nature in the sun and in the vitamins. We all have a social life. We are all healthy when we go outside and we all have fun with our family and friends. Make sure next time you go outside spend time with your family in nature!

Jake the panda

Today for CRT we made a toy called Jake the panda. I made the ears and the body and Charlie made the bamboo, eyes and stripes. he is about 1 hour old and he’s a bit dry. I really enjoyed making him because he was really soft I would say the the bamboo makes it really cool because its the size of him it would cost about $4.97 cents

Marae Trip

Rāpaki Marae day trip.

This term, we went on a day trip to Rapaki Marae. When we arrived, we were welcomed onto the marae with a traditional pōwhiri. We sang e te tau to the mana whenua of the marae.

During the trip, I learnt what sea glass is. My favourite part about the marae visit was not staying the night because I would rather stay with my family instead of staying the night. The most challenging part of the day was having morning tea because the morning tea was only 2 crackers for me. Overall, my experience was pretty good because we didn’t stay the night.
